The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly set to overhaul its support staff, with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar likely to be removed. Nayar, who has been with the Indian team for eight months, is expected to be let go amid speculation of a rift with a senior member of the support staff.

Sources suggest that the decision follows India’s recent Test defeats against New Zealand and Australia, which have prompted a review of the coaching setup. Alongside Nayar, fielding coach T Dilip and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai are also expected to be replaced. The BCCI has reportedly capped the tenure of support staff at three years, leading to a broader restructuring.

Additionally, Adrian Le Roux, India’s first-ever strength and conditioning coach, is rumored to be returning for a second stint. The BCCI has yet to issue an official statement, but BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has hinted that changes are being finalized and will be announced soon.
