The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially assumed ownership rights of the Chattogram Royals franchise for the remainder of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The decision comes after the previous management of the franchise failed to meet certain operational and financial obligations, prompting the board to step in to ensure smooth continuation of the tournament.

According to BCB officials, the takeover is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the league and maintaining consistency in team participation. The board confirmed that all contractual commitments to players, coaching staff, and support personnel will be honoured under its direct supervision.

The Chattogram Royals will continue to compete in the BPL under the same name, with the BCB managing administrative and financial responsibilities until the end of the season. The board has assured fans and stakeholders that the transition will not affect the team’s on-field performance or its participation in scheduled fixtures.

BCB representatives stated that the move was necessary to avoid disruption in the league and to uphold the credibility of the BPL as one of Bangladesh’s premier sporting events. They also emphasized that the decision reflects the board’s commitment to protecting the interests of players and ensuring the tournament’s successful completion.

The Chattogram Royals, a popular franchise with a strong fan base, are expected to continue their campaign without interruption. The BCB’s intervention is seen as a stabilizing measure at a crucial stage of the competition, reinforcing its role as the governing authority of cricket in Bangladesh.
