Bajaj General Insurance Limited (formerly Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited) has launched ‘Eco Assure’ for commercial vehicles, a new add-on cover aimed at reducing repair costs and improving operational efficiency for vehicle owners. The move is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its motor insurance portfolio amid rising maintenance challenges in India’s logistics and transport sector.

Designed to address cost pressures, Eco Assure offers two variants Essential and Advantage providing flexibility to customers. The cover enables a 100% depreciation waiver when reconditioned parts are used and up to 25% waiver for new parts, depending on the plan. It also eliminates compulsory deductibles during claims, offers 100% paintwork coverage, and protects commonly damaged components such as bumpers, lamps and side parts. Additional features include overturning cover, towing benefits, consumables coverage, key and lock replacement, and protection against rodent damage.

The Advantage plan further extends support with retrieval assistance from difficult locations, coverage for electric and hybrid systems, and defence cost cover for legal expenses. Notably, all repairs are covered across any workshop, enhancing convenience for policyholders. MD & CEO Dr. Tapan Singhel said the product aims to reduce downtime, enable faster claim resolution and improve business continuity for commercial vehicle owners.

In Port Blair,  where commercial vehicles are critical for island connectivity, supply chains and last-mile delivery, Eco Assure is expected to provide significant relief by lowering repair expenses and downtime. Its flexible repair options and broader coverage could support transport operators navigating logistical challenges unique to the region.
