The A&N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (ANIBOCWWB) recently held its 31st Board Meeting, where it approved ₹8.14 lakh for 53 welfare claims. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Anil Agarwal, who serves as both the Chairman of ANIBOCWWB and Secretary (Labour & Employment).
The approved funds will be disbursed under various welfare schemes, including death benefits, pension assistance, and maternity support. The board emphasized its commitment to ensuring financial aid reaches registered construction workers efficiently. The disbursement process will be carried out through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, ensuring transparency and timely assistance.
The meeting also included representatives from APWD, NHDCL, trade unions, and officials from the Office of the Labour Commissioner, who discussed further measures to enhance social security benefits for construction workers in the region.
