Amazon applauds the White House’s AI Action Plan, which sets vital measures to advance U.S. leadership in the secure development and adoption of AI—goals that align closely with Amazon’s own initiatives. To sustain global AI leadership, the U.S. must focus on expanding energy and infrastructure to support growing data centers. Since 2011, Amazon has invested over $156 billion in data center infrastructure and supply chains, creating around 37,000 jobs annually.

A recent example is Amazon’s $20 billion investment plan in Pennsylvania, aimed at expanding data centers, improving the electric grid, supporting nuclear energy, and enhancing AI and cloud computing. This will directly generate 1,250 high-skilled jobs and many more across the AWS data center supply chain. Amazon remains committed to working with state and federal agencies to set consistent, secure standards for AI development. The company looks forward to continued collaboration with government and industry to unlock AI’s full potential in driving economic growth and innovation.
