Akshay Kumar recently spoke about the importance of eating early and how it is beneficial for health. He also revealed that he works out, but never lifts weights.

Akshay Kumar is synonymous with discipline—be it his punctuality, fitness routine, or lifestyle. It is well known that the actor follows a strict routine: he goes to sleep by 10 pm, avoids late-night parties, and ensures to eat before 7 pm—a habit he has maintained over the years.

At a recent book launch event titled ‘Your Body Already Knows’, the actor shed light on his diet and the reasons behind his insistence on finishing his dinner by 6:30 pm.

“It is important to have an early dinner,” Akshay told the audience. “It is very important for your body because when we sleep at night, our eyes are resting, our legs are resting, our hands are resting, every part of our body is resting. But what is not resting is your stomach because we have eaten late.” He further added, “By the time you wake up, it’s time for it to rest. But when we wake up, we have breakfast and the poor stomach starts working again… I am explaining it in a very simple way and you all know that stomach, all the diseases come from there. I think diseases will not come to you as well. I always follow this. So, it is important to eat at 6:30 pm because you get time to digest your food and by the time you are about to sleep, that is by 9, 9:30, 10 pm, the stomach is completely ready for rest. It’s very simple.”

The actor also revealed another aspect of his health routine: he fasts every Monday. “I have my last meal on Sunday night and don’t eat again until Tuesday morning,” he said.

Talking about his workout routine, Akshay said, “I do rock climbing, I don’t lift weights, I like to play a lot of sports, and if you see, my gym… is actually made for monkeys. I just hang out. There are no weights.”

The videos of the event quickly went viral on social media and became a topic of discussion on several platforms including Reddit. One user wrote, “He is so disciplined, that’s what makes me admire him. If half of India becomes as disciplined as him, we will be number one in the world.” Another said, “I have been trying it for a few days, and it really works. Sleeps so good, feels light in the morning… it’s a small change that has so many benefits.”
