On July 22, the Health Department and the Social Welfare Department held a PMJAY Card Creation Camp at the Panchayat Hall in Wimberlygunj as part of an ongoing effort to provide eligible residents of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with access to the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The public’s reaction to the camp was positive, as 75 Ayushman Cards were successfully created for qualified recipients. The program is a component of the administration’s continuous endeavors to guarantee that all qualified individuals can access the health insurance benefits offered by the Government of India’s premier healthcare program.

PMJAY cards can be created by PHH and AAY ration card recipients, Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers, ASHA Workers, and senior persons 70 years of age and older. Those who qualify can create their cards in a number of ways, including by downloading the Ayushman App BIS 2.0 from the Google Play Store. Each beneficiary family is eligible for ₹5 lakh in cashless secondary and tertiary care at affiliated hospitals throughout India under AB-PMJAY. To fully benefit from the extensive health protection provided by the program, the Health Department has advised all eligible citizens to obtain their Ayushman Cards as soon as possible.
